What products do you use?
Our daily-use concentrates are Branch Basics, plant-based, free of bleach, ammonia, phthalates, synthetic fragrance, triclosan, APEs, and parabens, on every surface, every floor, every appliance. For disinfection (bathrooms, kitchens, high-touch points) we use Force of Nature, a Hypochlorous-acid-based disinfectant that is hospital-grade effective and gentle enough to use around food prep, pets, and infants. The non-toxic community knows these brands by name; we use them because they pass the standard we hold for our own home.
What does HEPA filtration actually do, and why does it matter?
HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) filtration captures microscopic particles down to 0.3 microns, which is the size range that includes most allergens, pet dander, dust mite debris, and pollen. Conventional vacuums often recirculate those particles back into the air. Our medical-grade HEPA vacuums trap them and remove them from the home. If a family member has asthma or severe allergies, this one detail changes the indoor air quality more than any other.
Is it really safe for my newborn, pet, or someone on chemotherapy?
Yes, and this is the reason the business exists. Travis and Caitlyn built Clean & Conscious Co. around their own two young daughters. Every product in our kit is selected on the basis of whether they would use it around their own children, pets, or a family member with a compromised immune system. We do not cut corners on that principle.
Do you bring your own supplies?
Yes. We bring everything we need: plant-based cleaners, microfiber cloths, mop systems, medical-grade HEPA vacuums. You do not have to stock products or keep anything on hand. If you would prefer we use a specific brand or product you already own, we are happy to accommodate.
How do you price cleanings?
We price by home size and service frequency, not by the hour. Every home size has a published rate for weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and the initial Environmental Reset (deep clean). You can see the full grid on our pricing page. No hidden fees, no surprise upcharges, no 'call for a quote' game.
Do I need a deep clean before recurring service starts?
Yes, this is required, not optional. Every new recurring client begins with a 52-point Environmental Reset. We cannot maintain a home that has never been deep cleaned to our standard; the baseline simply isn’t there yet. After the Reset, the Wellness Maintenance rotation keeps the home at that baseline.
Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?
Yes, all three. Clean & Conscious Co., LLC is fully licensed, fully bonded, and carries professional liability insurance. Bonding adds a layer of protection beyond standard liability coverage. Our specialists are W-2 employees (not day-labor gig workers), which matters if something is ever broken or missed.
Do you service Ohio, or just Indiana?
We regularly serve Harrison, Ohio and the border communities right across the state line. Our core footprint is Southeastern Indiana plus immediate Ohio border towns.
Can I cancel or reschedule a recurring clean?
Yes. Cancellations or reschedules made at least 48 hours in advance incur no fee. Cancellations or reschedules less than 48 hours before a scheduled visit incur a $50 cancellation fee, with one exception: illness. If anyone in your home has fever, flu, or respiratory symptoms, please reschedule and we waive the fee, we’d much rather you keep our specialists healthy. Likewise, we may reschedule you if a specialist is ill.
Why do you charge more than a solo cleaner charging $17.50 per hour?
Because the products, equipment, insurance, licensing, W-2 employment model, and 32-point Wellness Maintenance checklist cost more to deliver than a bucket of bleach and ammonia. If a $17.50/hour cleaner is the right choice for a household, we are not the right fit and that is okay. Our clients choose us because their air quality, their children, their pets, or their chemical sensitivity make the standard worth the difference.
Do I need to be home when you clean?
Not at all. Most of our recurring clients give us key or code access and we clean while they're at work, on errands, or traveling. It actually works better this way because we don't have to work around kids, pets, or remote meetings. If you prefer to be home, that's fine too, we adapt.
How long will a typical clean take?
For a Tier 3 home (3–4 bed / 2–3 bath, 1,500–2,500 sq ft) a Wellness Maintenance visit runs about 2 clock hours with a two-specialist team, and an Environmental Reset runs 3.5–4.5 clock hours. Our largest tier (5+ bed / 4+ bath, up to 4,500 sq ft) tops out around 6–7 clock hours for a Reset. We don’t spread Resets across two days unless the home is genuinely beyond our largest tier. We finish when the checklist is complete, we don’t rush to beat a quota.
What about my valuables and privacy?
Our specialists are W-2 employees with background checks, not gig workers. We sign an acknowledgment that confidentiality in your home is part of the job. Valuables stay exactly where you left them. Heirlooms or antiques valued over $200 should be disclosed and put away before our visit (per our Service Agreement).
What is your pet policy?
We operate under a strict zero-interaction pet policy, this is for your pets’ safety AND our specialists’. All pets must be secured for the entire duration of the clean (in a crate, in a designated ‘safe room’ we will not enter, or outdoors). If our team arrives and a pet is roaming free, they will not enter the home; we will contact you to secure the pet. If the pet cannot be secured, the visit is cancelled and the standard late-cancellation fee applies. We also do not handle litter boxes, ‘accidents,’ or cage cleaning, we’ll clean around those areas. Heavy shedding may require additional time at our hourly rate.
Do you offer same-day or emergency cleaning?
For existing clients, yes, we reserve short-notice slots for unexpected situations (a surprise visit from in-laws, post-illness deep clean, a medical event that needs allergen reduction). For new clients, same-day is rare but same-week is typical in our Tier 1 service area (Batesville, Oldenburg, Sunman, Osgood, Versailles).
Are there discounts for recurring service or referrals?
Recurring rates are lower per-visit than one-time rates, built right into the published grid, no separate discount to ask for. Referral program: when an existing client refers a neighbor or friend who books, the referrer gets a $50 credit off their next Wellness Maintenance visit, and the new referred client gets $50 off their initial Environmental Reset. We don’t run coupon promotions because our pricing is already transparent.
What happens if I’m not happy with a cleaning?
We do not offer refunds, but we do offer a “Make It Right” guarantee: if you are not 100% satisfied with a specific area of your clean, let us know within 24 hours of the visit and we will send a team back at no additional charge to re-do whatever wasn’t right. The 24-hour window matters because we need to address issues while they are still freshly observable.
Do you do move-out cleans for rental tenants?
Yes, our Move-In / Move-Out service is specifically designed for this. We clean to the level of a landlord walk-through: baseboards, inside appliances, inside cabinets, light fixtures, windows. Most tenants who book this get their full deposit back. See the Move-In / Move-Out service page for details.
Do you clean Airbnb or short-term rentals?
Yes, and we have a specific protocol for turnover cleanings between guest stays: prioritized high-touch surfaces, bathroom deep-sanitation, fresh-linen setup, and scent-free chemistry so guests walk into a home that smells like nothing rather than bleach. Common for our Brookville Lake area clients and Metamora B&B owners.
